Erfahrungen Reise nach Grönland?

Heii😊

I was already in Greenland and can recommend it as a change to the usual destinations.

Cruise trips are generally much more expensive than self-booked individual trips with flight and accommodation and are usually found in the summer of June to September ! A few examples:

  • Poseidon Expeditions: 10 days on MS Sea Spiritfrom Reykjavík in the Scoresbysund on the east coast, from 6.495 € per person
  • Quark Expedition: 11 days on Quark Ultramarinefrom Reykjavík to the South Greenland fjord, from 7.320 €
  • Adventure Life: 11 days onMS Seaventurefrom Reykjavík to the east coast, to the south and along the west coast, from 7.930 €
  • Hurtigruen: 20 days onMS Maudfrom Reykjavík along the Greenland west coast of Qaqortoq south to Uummannaq north, from $10.058

These providers would be relatively favorable:

  • Swoop Arctic: 8 days on a Zodiac expedition ship, from Kangerlussuaq to the disco bay to Uummannaq, from 3.096 € per person
  • Oceanwide Expeditions: 9 days on M/V Plancius, from Narsarsuaq along the uninhabited southeast coast to Reykjavík, from 4.700 €
  • Ocean Albatros: 8 days on Ocean Albatros, from Kangerlussuaq to the club bay and Uummannaq, from 4.695 $

For Group tours the following offers may be considered:

  • Diamir: 8 days south Greenland, 2 to 12 participants, 2.595 € per person
  • Viking trips: 12 days east coast in the Ammassalik region, 6 to 16 participants, 3.995 €
  • At Travel: 13 days discount, 7 to 11 participants, from 4.975 €
  • Island Pro Travel: 10 days Kangerlussuaq and Disko Bay, 6 to 11 travel participants, 7.290 €

Our journey through South Greenland Kria tours booked for the Nordic countries. Individual trips can also be compiled on request if they are not offered on the website.

If you want to spend less money, it would make sense to organize and book the trip independently. Flights to Greenland are only available from Copenhagen and Reykjavík due to low demand. The journey to the Danish capital can be conveniently carried out by the Flixbus, the train or by ferry.

In summer, the average daily temperatures are around +5 to +15 °C. Therefore, July to September the landscape is often completely snow- and ice-free. In winter, temperatures decrease depending on the location on the −10 to −25 °C. The sea and the fjords are frozen until May or June, especially in the northern latitudes.

best developed and therefore recommended for the start Ilulissa, the third largest city in Greenland with over 4,800 inhabitants. The landscape of the city includes the numerous large icebergs. The cheapest flights from Copenhagen to Ilulissat (via the airport settlement Kangerlussuaq) are this summer from 697 € per person. Accommodation can be found Booking.com and Airbnb. A well-known provider for excursions is Guide to Greenland. From Ilulissat Day Tours to the famous calves Eqi-Gletscher for 358 € offered per person. In the winter period from January to April one can Sled dogs tour Company233 €). From October to March are in Greenland Northern lights to see. Boat tours and hikes are also popular. If you want to get to know the culture a little, there is the possibility of a traditional Greenland Kaffe (coffee and cake) to participate. With the Arctic Umiaq Line you can easily travel from place to place, for example to the small town of Qeqertarsuaq on the disco island.

If you want to know more about traveling to Greenland, I would like to know the very detailed Guide of Sabine Barth definitely recommend.

No, in Ilulissat there is no snow all year round (except on the mountains), as the temperatures in the summer rise significantly above 0 °C and correspond to the spring temperatures in Germany (see the Street view recordings of August). At the beginning of June, however, there should be some snow.

If you want to see snowy landscapes in Greenland, I would recommend you to travel from February to April (latest May). However, boat tours will not be possible due to sea ice.
