Experiences with Mazda, Hyundai and Kia?

Hello,

Today I read that Mazda will double its warranty and now offer 6 years. As far as I know, Kia offers a 7-year warranty, and Hyundai offers a 5-year warranty.

In my opinion, no one with too many recalls will offer such guarantees. What's your experience with these brands, especially the sportier models?

Warranty has nothing to do with the number of recalls. These must be free anyway. On the one hand, manufacturers are convinced of their products, and on the other hand they bind you to their contract workshops. Such guarantees are voluntary services linked to certain contractual points. They don’t get the customers because they are so sweet and nice. In the end, however, it is a purchase argument for many.

Why are you making a good thing negative?

That is not negative, that is a fact. You just have to read the warranty agreements. I used to think about a warranty extension at my then new car. What has been excluded and what limitations apply. Workshop and the like there was for me, took me away from it.

In the end, I didn’t need it anyway. My Toyota will soon be 12 and hasn’t had a single problem yet.

A guarantee beyond the statutory 2 year warranty is nevertheless a voluntary offer of the manufacturer. If you do not comply with the contractual agreements, the manufacturer does not have to upgrade you to warranty. You have not only rights as buyers, as everywhere in life.

The same applies to the “big” 8 years on the batteries of the electric cars. At present, one is still very cunning, but at some point it will mean “We’re sorry, but if they’re wrong, that’s not our fault” and I bet VW will be far ahead.

We know the car industry. Why is it supposed to be customer-friendly?

You may not compare a new-car connection warranty with the usual manufacturer warranty. this connection guarantee is a used car guarantee against extra payment.

At least Mazda is considered to be very solid and in all cases the vulnerable parts will be somehow excluded.

The Japanese and Koreans believe in their product and know that it is good. The long manufacturer guarantees are nothing new. The Japanese also had 3 years and/or 100,000 KM manufacturer warranty 25/30 years ago.

With Hyundai I have only had very good experience in the last 5 years. i40cw nearly 5 years young, 230.000 without problems KM. Tucson, 3 years young, no problems. From May Santa Fe, I think will be like this again.

All 3 brands are represented in my Top 5 favorite brands. All very horny cars except for a few exceptions.

I personally run Hyundai and have never had anything except a problem with electronics. LG

Toyota already offers 10 years of manufacturer warranty.
