Enlightenment?
Hello,
I don't understand the historical background of the Enlightenment literary period? Can someone explain it to me in detail? I need to be able to explain it in my presentation.
Thank you in advance.

What is the umbrella term for communism, fascism, national socialism, etc.
Because in the Greek alphabet it goes from alpha to omega…
This might sound a bit oddly worded, but I think you know what I mean. Key moments that ultimately led to success. A list or a deep web article would be best; I haven't been able to find anything useful so far. LG James
The Enlightenment is a philosophical flow that is in the 18th century. A century in Europe. It set itself the goal of strengthening human reason against superstition and irrational thinking. Intellectuals such as writers, journalists, philosophers and scientists were especially enlightened. Their ideas were spread in numerous papers and newspapers and had great influence on European society.
In your presentation, you should refer to the central ideas of enlightenment. These include, among other things, the freedom of the individual, the equality of all people before the law, the separation of church and state, the division of powers and freedom of expression and press. The idea of enlightenment as a movement directed against oppression and intolerance is also important.
Important people for orientation are Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Immanuel Kant and Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. The ideas developed on the basis of these people should play a central role in your presentation. (Where Goethe can of course not be counted for clarification, but had a great influence on the German literature of this era.)
