Engine trouble? Interruptions while driving?

I drive an Opel Vectra C GTS 211 hp.

It had been running very reliably up until then. However, the following problem suddenly arose while driving:

While accelerating, the car suddenly braked, and the check engine light illuminated briefly. The ESP light remained on the entire time. The deceleration wasn't a complete stop, but rather jerky, as if you were briefly pressing the brakes.

Then I depressed the clutch, gave it a little gas, and everything was fine again. I didn't have to restart the engine; it seemed to still be running.

Another thing that's noticeable is the "ESP light," which stays on. It's off by default and only comes on when, for example, the tires spin. Or you turn it on/off yourself.

I then came up with the idea of simply turning on the ESP light before every trip (which deactivates the skid protection), but unfortunately it happened again today….

The strange thing is, nothing happens for weeks. And then suddenly, out of nowhere, it comes again.

Also, this only started happening after the new tires were put on. Could this be related?

I would be very happy to receive helpful answers.

Servus,

When I read the first part, I thought it’d be a bit off the fuel supply, but now I have another guess…

First of all, you have to realize that the warning lights don’t always just have a function. With my vw bus, for example, it is so: if motor control lamp lights + exhaust gas lamp lights + pre-incandescent lamp flash, it virtually emits a fault code in this combination. Incandescent candles are 100% in order with the error, although the relevant lamp has flashed. I hope you understand what I want.

What I can imagine is that your wheel speed sensor is broken. This is used to make your car notice the zb of the tire x now has to be twisted and power removed. What happened to you was that the sensor has output a wrong value and your car thought it must take away power – since the jerk. Then it checked that the sensor has false values and that is why the warning light was thrown at you. It will only start at the next start.

Of course, it’s just a guess to diagnose something remotely is always difficult. I hope I could give you some thoughts. If you have any questions, please
