Engine failing?

Hello,

I was just driving an Audi A3 8PA (13 years old) and was driving down a hill. Suddenly, I couldn't feel the horsepower anymore, so I checked the gear and everything was correct. So I downshifted and accelerated, but the engine speed still dropped constantly to zero. The car then stalled. Starting off doesn't work anymore either; it feels like you're trying to start off in 4th gear.

Has anyone ever had this happen or have any idea what it could be?

Thanks in advance

Will you see a mistake symbol in the tacho? If so and it’s red, you need someone to drag you down.

Without further information, unfortunately, it is not possible to say much about it that your described error can have several causes. You will probably have to call the Pannendienst (e.g. ADAC), or a workshop with emergency services that will take you off.

However, if the vehicle simply does not want to start, it will not be possible to continue, so towing will be indispensable. Perhaps a hose is placed somewhere, that could be repaired on site to get to the next workshop.

Maybe something’s broken. Remote diagnosis is not possible, call the Pannenhilfe or your workshop.

You have to look under the hood and read the FC. So ad hoc you can’t say anything
