Enable G-Sync on laptop?

Hello, I have the following question. I bought a new monitor today (Philipps 242e1gaj). As far as I know, it's also FreeSync and G-Sync compatible. However, my laptop (HP Pavilion) doesn't have a DisplayPort connection to enable this, only HDMI. My question now is: Can I connect the laptop to the monitor via HDMI using an HDMI to DP cable and then finally enable G-Sync on the monitor? Or will the laptop still say no?

Wenn der Laptop einen HDMI 2.1 Port hat, und du einen G-Sync fähigen Adapter kaufst, sollte das bedingt funktionieren.
Bedingt, weil es ein Kompatibilitätsmodus für HDMI ist. “Echtes” G-Sync gibt es nur via DP.
