Heard parents having sex, how should one deal with it (Tw)?
Hi,
I heard my mom and her boyfriend having sex last night, and it's not really that bad, but it was a big trigger for me because I was abused in the past. I went to my room afterward and had a panic attack, which led me to have sex again. It was really hard for me, and now I don't know how to deal with it or whether I should tell my mom. I just don't feel ready to even see my mom because that would be a trigger, and I'm afraid I'll panic even more.
(Please only serious answers, and please don't tell me that I shouldn't do SV because I know it's difficult)

A good partnership is based on love, mutual trust and a very good communication capability. Sexuality is a part of love. Because of this, sexuality is completely normal and belongs to it in a good partnership.
Due to abuse, you may suffer from a PTBS > post-traumatic stress disorder, with the corresponding consequences. A corresponding psychotherapy, either outpatient or inpatient conditions, in a psychiatric clinic would be useful to get the right help.

You should definitely talk to your mother about it. Then they should do it in the future if you’re not there or contain their room so well that you don’t hear. You should not have to think of such an incident at home, but just turn it off. So please talk to her about it and I think you’ll find a solution together:)
I’m inconceivable suffering that you had to experience and hope you can handle this one day better and that you won’t get triggered by the noises. Do not forget that you are unbelievably strong and use this strength:)
I don’t know how you’re self-threatened, but if it happens to things where zb’s scars are left, try to sniff it with other things like rubber bands on the arm or something else.
And have you been in therapy for all this? Vlt helps you
Thank you for your answer!! Yes I do it with a blade and there will be scars, but the rubber bands do not really help me. I have to go to a clinic for several smv, thank you again for your answer 🙂
