Injector defective?
Hello dear people,
First of all, I drive a Skoda Fabia 5j, first registered in 2007. (3 cylinders)
My problem is that some animal bit through the cable to my second injector.
The car then ran in emergency mode, the engine was sputtering and running unevenly, and the engine light was on.
I then stripped some of the insulation off the cable at both ends, re-soldered it, and re-insulated it with heat shrink tubing.
The car ran normally again afterwards, no emergency program, no stuttering, no loss of power.
I then wanted to read the error log and reset it, and no sooner said than done. Unfortunately, the error wouldn't clear, and the engine light is still on. The car runs smoothly, no issues, and isn't any louder than usual. The revs are constant, and there are no drops in revs or anything like that.
Is it possible that there is an error in the voltage measurement due to the soldering point and that is why it is not clearing the error or could it be that the injector is faulty? (But then it would run unevenly on a 3 cylinder).
Maybe one of you has an idea.
Clamp the battery and wait so approx. 15min before you connect them again.
If the error is gone after and comes back, there is still a problem.
Go to actual values and make a test drive.
