an overpressure in the cooling system?
Hi, I have a Sharan 2.0 TDI 2008 and there is excess pressure in the cooling system. When I drive 100 km/h nothing happens. When I drive faster, around 140-160 km/h, it releases pressure into the cooling system, but not too little. I don't know what to do. I've checked the timing belt, water pump, thermostat, everything. And today I did a pressure test and everything is fine. Has anyone else had this problem?
An overpressure of about 1.8 bar is normal because it prevents the water from boiling. If this value is exceeded, the cover has an overpressure valve from the coolant container where the pressure is released. Too high pressure in the coolant system can return to a broken head seal.
Before that was all right we could have changed thermostat that we were wrong built in that thermostat has not been original?
In the case of a false thermostat or faulty thermostat, your system would either become overheated or not even warm. Since a thermostat opens the various cooling circuits and closes depending on the operating state of the engine. Could only explain to me when overheating the vapor bubbles, which results in increased pressure. I doubt it.
Workshop meant could also be on the cooling system container that I doubt I drove strongly today. temperature 90 degree 120 km/h continuous cooling system water very high has not left out after having driven home 130 140 km/h The lamp was quite wet warm brown spots
Is the lid of the cooler system in order? He’s not supposed to get up at a certain overpressure.
Yes, it’s all right
A modern car basically has overpressure in the cooling system.
If there is too much overpressure, this indicates problems with the cylinder head seal
