Real carmine?
Is real carmine only found in red foods or also in other
(Because: I was just about to eat these Germany fan bands, but then I noticed that they contain real carmine. Does that only apply to the red part, or also to the black and yellow ones?
So if you don't know what I'm talking about, these are sweets without gelatin from Lidl or Aldi I think
because I don't want to consciously eat lice blood now…
Don’t do it. Genuine carmine is a dye contained in the eggs of the lye. It’s not blood.
Carmine is a dye and will generally be present only in red products. See simply for the products whether the dye E120 is present there. That would be Karmin.
If you look at the ingredients, please see E904. These are also parts of lice used in products.

In Germany, “Carmic acid” was approved in 1959 by the dyestuff Regulation for use in foodstuffs and the E-number E 120 was added for “Karmic acid”. The use of “real carmine” as a food additive E 120 is uniformly regulated by an EU regulation of January 2009. It may be used for conserving (red) fruits, for fruit and vegetable bread spreads, for cheese, rye imitates, maroon cream, sausages and meat preparations, fish and crustaceans and pastes thereof, breakfast vegetables and flavoured beverages. The maximum permitted quantity is 50 and 250 milligrams per kilogram.
