E-scooter?

Good day👾

Does anyone here have experience with e-scooters and/or perhaps even bought one themselves? Can anyone who does share their experiences, recommendations, and tips?

(Perhaps recommendations for specific models? Or advice against certain models? Buying tips? Experiences with e-scooters and the models themselves? That sort of thing…)

Thank you 🛴

I have an e-scooter from Metz (1000 euros). On warm days, I was at work. The range is 20 km, but only with very good conditions and slow driving. With time, the range is slow and maybe after a year at 16 Km, according to my feeling.

I particularly like that you can fold the scooter together and put it in the car. If you are in a foreign city, you can park outside and then drive the Schleichwege right into the city center with the scooter. You can also explore wonderful city centers, e.g. on holiday. On very hot days such a scooter is absolutely fantastic.

Big wheels are important because you feel the hoof. Hard rubber would probably not be a good choice. The route should be as flat as possible and the cycle paths should be well developed, everything else is not sensible.

With the device I make a purchase because I got a big shopping basket that can be attached to the front. I can often leave the car. Of course, this is not the case for the big purchase.

I charge the device in the lockable basement at the outlet. Since we have a deep-rig, it’s all very practical.

I think there are quite cheap e-scooters that could have their quality. But if you want to use the e-scooter frequently in everyday life and not just in leisure, I would put on quality. You can also save money if car/bus tickets can be saved. But unfortunately it never completely replaces it because good and warm weather are absolutely important. In winter, it’s worse than on the bike.

Make sure they have two disc brakes like the bike. Besides, the engine should be at least 400 watts, otherwise you won’t get up a hill. In addition, the item should be approved at least for 120 kg payload; 100 kilos are scarce for adults with a jacket and a backpack.

I had ordered one for my father from the brand XIAOMI for 380€ c.a

He went back immediately after the 1 test trip of the came barely high

and he has not always made promises

a friend has bought one For 500 or 600€ from the Selben brand so he has got problems starting 15 KM home

but if you want my honest opinion I wouldn’t spend money for it, especially not

if you have a car you have when I remember

for short distances also 2 healthy legs and feet

So what I have heard is that the dinger to 25 km/h are so freely available and from 26 km/h you have to let them insure with a kennzeichen.

Don’t even have one, but there are e-scooters from Bolt who cost 5 cents per minute. Without activation fee.

It doesn’t help if you live in a city where there are no rental cooters.
