E-bike with more than 500 watts?

Hello everyone

I bought a new e-bike for off-road use. It has two motors, one on the front and one on the rear wheel. The system output is 1500 watts. It can climb almost anywhere without much trouble. It has a thumb throttle, and a top speed on flat surfaces is about 50 km/h.
As I said, I only really need this thing off-road as it weighs over 40kg and I'm not entirely sure if it's legal to ride on the road.

Is something like this legal on the road in Germany or not? Off-road, it's no problem.

BH Emotion Spain had a pedelec with 2 engines. The dealer chain has taken this out of the program or this brand

That was limited to 25 kmh. Then there were S-Pedelecs. These are allowed to drive with signs but not in the forest etc

This is a motor vehicle. In order to drive on public roads it is necessary to have an admission, insurance and the driver a driving license (guide license).

The real problem is that if a non-insured vehicle is damaged, it is not covered by private liability insurance and you are fully liable. So you have to pay the damage yourself. In case of personal injury, the statutory ceiling is 3 million euros per person injured.
As a rule, such damage leads to the complete ruin of the hurricane. Then you can work what you want and never get beyond Hartz IV level. Potential assets are pledged and used.

If you insure it and have an appearance, it’s legal.

Otherwise not.

with 1500 watts, this is probably on a straight line on 80.

that is a motor vehicle. For this you need a license plate, insurance, driving license (if it actually creates 50 theoretically a motorcycle driving license, up to 45 only scooters) etc.

And, of course, you can’t drive on bike paths. You have to wear a helmet and the wheel must meet all the requirements of the road registration order, so have zb mirrors

so that it can be considered a bicycle, it can drive a maximum of 25 km/h. The motor is only allowed to work if the motor is trampled.

Ggf can be clarified with an electronic control that can not be driven more than 25km/h or the motor is out of it. Whether there is a maximum power of the engine I don’t know for sure. With pure muscle power you can drive faster

Yeah, you need. Just like a corresponding driving permit.

Faster than 45 km/h? Then it’s a lightweight wheel. Also known as “125”.

To do this, you need an A1 class approval, approval, liability insurance and driving licence. Then you’re allowed to drive legally.

If one of them is missing, you must not legally drive in public transport. And, just like this: a forest road is also a public transport space if everyone has access there!

By the way, because you mention the “street mode” with just one motor a few times:

What is decisive is what the vehicle technical. Not whether you use it. So if there are two usable engines, then both count.

This is a vehicle with which you do not drive in the terrain (if it is not a closed mountain bike, motocross or enduro section).

If it is fenced and locked, and you have the permission of the owner of this site, it is probably legal. If you build an accident, you pay yourself because you don’t have insurance.

You can’t drive on public roads. To do this, you need to have a permit, insurance and admission. Theoretically possible, practically very expensive if the manufacturer does not supply BE.

Nevertheless, you cannot drive there with such a vehicle. Even the 45km/h parts must not use forest and field paths.

The danger is becoming ever greater, as unfortunately there are more ruthless bikers and also motocrossers that are negative.

Each area that can be accessed by pedestrians, hikers, children, etc. is part of the public transport area. You can therefore drive to fully fenced private plots if it is ensured that only a limited group of persons has access.

The question is if they leave you on the motocross line. Even in a gravel pit, even if it is completely fenced, you have nothing to look for if the property is not yours.
You can’t drive a single meter on the road with your vehicle.
You violate several laws and even commit crimes (compulsory insurance law, driving without driving licence).

Small info on driving in the forest: This can cost fines up to 50,000€.
