Dying process in fish?

Hi, I've had an aquarium for a year now, and about four months ago I bought five mollies (including one black molly). But this one has been getting thinner and thinner for the past few weeks, and now he looks very emaciated. He also spends most of his time lying on the bottom, but he's still alive. So I wanted to ask if there's a "dying process" (if you can call it that) in fish, and if it can take several days.

Thanks in advance for all helpful answers, Jakob

Hello,

But he has become thinner for a few weeks and now he looks very thin.

This is, of course, disgusting that you’ve been watching for so long without explaining the causes!

Besides, he’s almost on the floor, but still alive.

Fish that behave like this are consecrated to death and should be redeemed, preferably with carnation oil!

That’s why I wanted to ask if there’s such a “mortal process” in fish (if you can call it that) and if that can take several days.

Yes even in fish, the starving takes a long time and is painful, so you should redeem it!
