DVD-R?

Hi Community,

I have two almost identical Panasonic recorders, both 12 years old. I can use and finalize Verbatim DVD-R blanks on one recorder without any problems. The other device doesn't even show me the DVD management feature, let alone finalize a Verbatim DVD-R. When I try to finalize the DVD, the message "Unknown format" appears.

Who can give me the crucial tip and possibly explain the cause?

I would be grateful for a meaningful answer.

Kind regards

It can be that the part DVD+R wants.

There is dsa DVD MINUS R and DVD PLUS R, need other blanks.

Or it can be that the LAser is deadjusted or dust is on the reading head. The things don’t last forever.

for CD and DVD drives in computers, this is a well-known problem. Why should your recorder be excluded?
These are then simply reading errors, because data must also be read for format recognition.
Sometimes it is useful to clean the DVD.
I don’t know if someone’s doing a repair. (Have such a DRM???)
