DVD Player shows "Profile not supported?
Hello,
I have a project where I want to play a digital file on a tube TV. For this, I bought an old Tevion DVD player that still has a SCART connection. I converted the file to MPEG2 and burned it to a DVD-R. The DVD player now says "Profile not supported" and shows me a menu where I can see the file in a folder, but it won't play. Does anyone have any advice? What kind of "profile" does the DVD player mean by that?
It cannot play the Mpeg2 format.
Okay, I’m surprised. What format does a traditional DVD player play?
Because I have specially gogled in what format DVDs are usually described and I came to Mpeg2.
Let’s see if there’s anything in there.
Maybe it could be the resolution. Evtl. can make a video DVD from the file with a program like Nero. In some players it also played a role whether you had a DVD +R or -R.
I don’t have them because I bought the player from small ads and it’s from 2008 or so. Is a Tevion DVD 8000. At Google you will find a data page at the top where all the specifications of the player are reported. Compatibility also speaks of MP4, Mpeg2 etc.
Could you look at this for a second, if you’d like anything else? That would really be a great help for my project.
I have good experiences with the “DVD Creator”, because I have simply inserted any stuff streamed in the mp4 format, and the program makes it a standard DVD with menu and everything.
