Thirst test tomorrow: I'm so scared of it – what should I do?

I'm supposed to do a thirst test at the clinic tomorrow starting at 8:00 a.m. In the worst case scenario, that means drinking NOTHING until 10:00 p.m. Not even food with liquid like cucumber or watermelon… I need my 6-10 liters a day. If I can't drink anything for 1.5-2 hours during the day, the thirst becomes unbearable.

Drinking (not alcohol, of course) is also a stress-management strategy for me. There's hardly anything that calms me down as quickly as drinking 1-1.5 liters of cold water in just a few minutes. Sometimes even in one go.

There are many traumas in my biography, and I strongly suspect that drinking is my best skill. My self-observations over the past few weeks confirm this without exception. What can I do if my strategy—drinking—isn't available in the clinic, but "normal" clinicians aren't familiar with the underlying causes of trauma? Who will believe me when I say I need something to drink because something is triggering me (which I may not recognize myself and therefore can't name) and—without a counter-strategy—could severely retraumatize me?

I'm afraid that after only 1.5 – 2 hours, no one will believe that my thirst is unbearable. Or rather, it's the necessity of feeling this strong stimulus of (preferably cold) liquid in my mouth, throat, and other parts of my body in order to avoid dissociation…

How do I explain this connection to a general practitioner, an internal medicine doctor, or an endocrinologist in a way that will convince them and not think I'm crazy? What do I do if someone tries to force me to stop drinking?

What do I do if you stop me from drinking with violence?

Call the police. But no one will.

I strongly suspect that this attempt fulfils a purpose. 6-10 liters of liquid absorption, particularly large amounts in a short time, are not acceptable to health.

I’d just talk about it openly with the treating doctor.

What worries you have, and how it will be. In the case of doubt, also make a limit when you really can’t change.

Just within a clinic, such a test is really not bad because you have a lot of staff around you that can help you.

The first question is why you have been at least. 6 years still do not make trauma therapy, but rather want to torture your body.

I need my 6-10 liters a day. If I can’t drink for 1.5 to 2 hours during the day, the thirst becomes unbearable.

You know that’s bullshit. No BRAUCHT 6-10 litres of water a day. And after 2 hours, the thirst is not unbearable, but you are thinking that makes you suffer emotionally.

… can retraumatize enormously?

That’s bullshit! You can’t traumatize yourself.
What you can do is to practice now, lovingly deal with your stomach. Your body is not some thing that you can abuse at will without suffering. You are responsible for your body! Otherwise he’ll tell you soon. “I now have enough of your wretchedness with the crowds of food and liquid you put into me. I just don’t work anymore and turn off. Then you can see how you can manage without me.”

Such a high liquid absorption is, among other things, harmful and can have serious consequences.

I’m not counting that to Skills.

Apart from that, I would advise you to discuss this with the doctors before the start of the thirst attempt.

There are countless other skills than those mentioned, I turn out to be in no way harmful.

If you think you haven’t informed yourself about the consequences of such excessive water consumption, have you?

Drinking 6 to 10 litres of water a day is not good. – Except you weigh over 200 kg.

At 130 kg you should drink a maximum of just over 5 litres.

According to doctors: 0.03 to 0.04 liters per kilo of body weight.

Maybe reduce a bite. You know, too much is not good either.

Yeah, right.

If you want to get out of whether it is psychogenic polysispipsie, or diabetes insipidus, then only this attempt remains.

Of course you think that these illnesses are real.

You have the test behind you, how did you stop it, what a result came out?
