Yesterday I found an apprenticeship that starts on January 2, 2025. Since I'm still a minor, I'm still required to attend school.
But could I theoretically quit now that I have found an apprenticeship without having to pay a penalty?

In Germany, compulsory schooling is usually valid until 18 years of age or until the ninth or tenth grade is completed. I don’t think there’s anything in the way of starting training, because you’ll go back to school there. ðŸ ̃‰ in your place, however, I would ask again at your current school or at the school office.

Do you already have a school degree? (Real school, for example, and now do Abitur)? Then, I think that’s okay. But also only then (But this could be different from the federal state to the federal state – check on the homepage of your competent state education ministry whether you find something – at least one contact address where you can ask). Without regular school graduation, however, I would definitely finish the school first – and, if necessary, ask the company whether they also offer new apprenticeships in summer/autumn 2025.
