Driving license class b197?

Hi,

I'm currently getting my driver's license and thought I'd get a class B, but my driving instructor said I could also get a class B197… My question is, what's the big disadvantage of the class B197? Did I understand correctly that it allows me to drive manual and automatic cars up to 3,500 kg, but if I get a trailer license (BE), for example, which only uses manual transmissions and also pass the test for that with manual transmissions, can I also drive it with manual transmissions? Is that the case, or can I then only drive all the other classes with automatic transmissions, or do I have to get a new license with manual transmissions? Everyone says something different 🙁

It’s been changed. Class B 197 allows class B motor vehicles to be operated with an automatic gearorwith a manual transmission, although the practical driving test can be stored on a vehicle with an automatic transmission. For this purpose, practical driving training on vehicles with an automatic transmission and a manual transmission is carried out in the driving school. A total of at least ten driving hours must be carried out on a vehicle with a manual transmission, and the driving instructor must carry out an at least 15 minutes test drive, which takes place internally and externally, on a vehicle with a manual transmission. Subsequently, the driving instructor certifies in an official form that the driving student carried out these at least ten driving hours and the at least 15 minutes test drive on a vehicle with a manual transmission. The actual practical driving test can then be stored on a vehicle with an automatic transmission. Following this, both manual transmission and automatic transmission can be operated. In the past, a new practical driving test on a vehicle with a gearshift was necessary. Class B is thus produced with this new regulationno disadvantages more!

Important / disadvantage:who makes class B 197 and later wants to acquire class BE or a driving licence for trucks or buses, whichmust: the practical driving test in these classes is then necessarily placed on a vehicle with a gearshift!. Otherwise, the driving licence in these classes is then limited to vehicles with an automatic transmission. This restriction is to be lifted again, still requires a further practical driving test on a vehicle of the corresponding class with a gearshift.

Hi, have a question about your answer.

This restriction is to be lifted again, still requires a further practical driving test on a vehicle of the corresponding class with a gearshift.

What do you have to do? Is it possible to report to the driving school only for a test without the theory and driving hours that has made it logical?

Can you even make the BE driver’s license on a control car if you have the B197 driver’s license, but have the exam on automatic?
