Driving license alcohol penalty Austria?

Hello,

I'm 17 years old from Austria, and of course, I still have a provisional driver's license. I was stopped today and had a blood alcohol level of 0.36. I was also going 24 km/h over the speed limit on the highway. I'm not allowed to continue driving my car and will pick it up tomorrow. What penalties can I expect? Will this result in a criminal record? Does the record expire, or does it remain for life?

Hello,

I do not know the laws in Austria exactly, but I assume that they resemble the Germans.

So you may be able to count on a driving ban, points, extension of the trial period, a high fine due to alcohol id trial time + too fast.

In Austria there are also construction seminars as in DE. You'll have to take part in such a one if you don't, driver's withdrawal.

In DE it is a criminal offense from 1.1 per mille, I think it is similar in Austria.

You can read this here:

There is probably an expensive retraining, an extension of the trial period and a fine.

Because of the alcohol, retraining is arranged. The costs are regulated by law and amount to 495€. In addition, the test license is extended by one year.

The speed is the smaller evil here, for that you have either already got an organ mandate or there is an administrative penalty. The amount of the penalty is not exactly regulated in Austria – unlike in Germany – but at 24km/h too much on the motorway it will probably move in the order of 50-150€.

There is no entry into the criminal register. What you have done is not a crime, but an administrative transfer (for our German fellow readers: illegality in Austrian). These are not entered in the criminal register.
