Drive both cars on the day of re-registration (registration)?

I want to buy a car from a dealer far away. He's taking my old car as a trade-in. My plan now is to drive the old car to the dealer, put my license plates on the new car, and drive right on over.

If I go to the registration office on the same day and re-register, can I then (since it's the same day I deregistered) still drive there with the old car and license plate as described above and continue driving with the new car?

With the old car and the old license plate you are still insured until midnight! However, never with the old, stamped license plate and the new car:-((

Cars and drive : Is that allowed? In principle, reported vehicles are not moved by road. After completion of the registration, only journeys related to the registration or registration are: , according to § 10 para. 4 FZV permitted by law.

Then you should first inform your registration office whether a license plate is possible on the same day or whether possibly 1 day in between must be due to the release of the number…

But then there is still the problem with the transfer of the old and unregistered car. Use a short-term identifier for this…!?

The car is not registered until the registration is completed, so the new one is registered. "Report"

Normally, you can keep the old number plates, so it's easy. You need this electronic insurance number, then the new one is also directly insured.

Once you have the e-insurance number, you can go for registration, but only there… In the same way, you can still drive home or to the buyer with a registered car (devalued license plate).

The new car is not yet insured, but only with the approval :((()

The FS wants to drive to the dealer by the old car, then screw the number plates and then drive with the new one for registration. That's what my husband has done.

It doesn't work.

Then you'll have to make new marks. You're driving with old car, screwing the new signs to the new car and driving home. The dealer will report your old one.

You can keep the number plates from the old one to the new ones and to the registration. But not elsewhere!

I'd get red number plates.

The "Red license plates" have long been banned for private persons!!!

There are the so-called. Short-term indicators valid for 5 days!
