Great class, Carolin!

For one of your first attempts really great! I started so similar at the time: first the whole figure, perhaps even flatly softly pushed (greatly gentle halftones), then laid sharp details on it with nem pointed black pen and so slowly hangs on in pencil technology. You’ll surely get all the tones, black grades. At the end of the day, I tried in coal, but that was all about me because I lacked patience. ;-

I’m sure you’ll find/find solutions to give the image even more ‘structure’ and depth (maybe clearer brightness/dark contrasts?). In any case a strong entry! * Handcuffs*

The fact that the ear was so striking will probably be due to the fact that the large white area in the photo didn’t seem so dramatic, and your already created tinting could perhaps show little more details of the real ear? I don’t know, try makes smarter. Later you will give such details as the lips and the leftcension area more depth, spatiality. :-

In the approach not bad, but you have painted rather gray scratchy scratchy areas instead of the crowds of no hair that a cat has as fur.

If you compare both pictures (original photo of the cat and your drawing) with each other, then you can see that was shown only over a large area.

And when you get closer, the little hairs look more like beards. :

Well, technically, I can’t say anything about it. That’s why I can only say how I like it as an absolute layman and that’s very good.

The ear is a tuck too wide, length seems to fit, super drawing!

Totally pretty, but the ear is a bit big 😊

Drawing animals is not so easy.

To test yourself, you can put and compare both pictures, so put the template and your drawing on your head. Then you’ll see where you need to get back.

both good, great success

Thanks for the confirmation and wishes for success, Pozzo. This was rather a supplementary proposal and offer to Carolin, but in the reading I recognize the misunderstanding. ;-

So wow great praise you didn’t get bad when you keep going like that you’re getting better! Maybe add more details and harden with different pencil but otherwise work really a good start 👩🏻 🎨

Looks good, only the forehead is a bit small, as the ear is too far forward. Try to make it true to scale and pay attention to the length of the outer lines and to the approximate angle, then you can’t do anything about it. I always do.
