DPD parcel problem?
I placed an order on June 16th, and the package, worth over €300, was supposed to be delivered on June 25th. I was home at the specified time. No ring, nothing, and I got a message saying they couldn't reach me and would try again the next day. I was annoyed because I was actually home, but it was okay.
The next day, same thing happened. The delivery window was somewhere between 10:30 and 1:30 pm I was at home working from home. Nothing! Then suddenly the email "Your package has been delivered." I was like, "To whom?" and ran downstairs to see if there was a note somewhere saying it had been delivered to my neighbor.
NOTHING! Stairwell, hallway, outside the door—no note or even the package anywhere.
So I called DPD. The lady on the phone said, "Yes, that's strange. At first, the package was declared undeliverable on the driver's device, but then five minutes later, it was listed as contactless delivery."
Well, I asked my neighbors – there was no one there… So I contacted the seller, and now it's been going back and forth…
DPD claims they've been using contactless delivery since the coronavirus pandemic, and the driver rang my doorbell and left the parcel 2 meters in front of me, as required. A blatant lie! I then filled out a form stating that I hadn't received my parcel. Now, after more than a month of ordering, I still haven't received a response.
Today I contacted DPD again, and the lady said that as an end customer, I don't have to wait for the complaint, but can simply request my money back from the seller. Is that true?
I mean, 300 EUR is a lot of money and the package was urgently needed and I haven't been able to order a replacement until today.
Thanks for your help.
Claudia
Sounds complicated, maybe ask the police what could be done. If you can get back the 300€ from the seller, this is probably the easier way, and then maybe if possible order elsewhere or choose other type of shipping.
Good luck!
The consignor has commissioned DPD and is therefore the one who has to deal with DPD. If it's a dealer, he'll have to refund or reship the amount. To do this, you have to make an affidavit that you did not receive a package.
I filled out a legal binding information for DPD. Is this enough?
