Does whisky have a different effect than vodka at the same alcohol concentration?

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding the effects of different spirits. If I compare a 40% whiskey with a 40% vodka, is there a difference in the effects?

I normally only drink vodka and am wondering if whiskey has a different effect or if the two are comparable at the same alcohol concentration. Are there factors that can influence the intoxicating effect, such as the ingredients, the manufacturing method, or the drinking style?
