Does this RAM upgrade work?

Hello,

I wanted to upgrade my RAM and have been going through a few options. I currently own 2×8 GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz. So, of course, buying the same RAM again, i.e. upgrading to 32GB, is an option. However, I'm not sure if 32GB is enough, so I'd rather upgrade to 48GB, as I play very RAM-intensive games. So I wanted to ask if it's possible to use RAM from a different brand, which would be cheaper. I'd rather get two of these RAMs (which are about the same price as getting the Corsair RAM but only 16GB): mediamarkt.de

Is that possible?

Hello,

So of course one option is to buy the same RAM again, i.e. upgrade to 32GB.

That would indeed be the best option

But I'm not sure if 32 GB is enough

32 GB is more than enough for gaming

That's why I wanted to ask if you can use RAM from a different brand that would be cheaper.

This is not recommended. You should not mix RAM

So, 3200MHz CL22 is pretty bad, 3200MHz CL16 would actually be normal. And it's not cheap either.
The cheapest 32GB kit currently available: https://geizhals.de/g-skill-aegis-dimm-kit-32gb-f4-3200c16d-32gis-a2151624.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

If you're just gaming, I'm sure 32GB is enough.
You can't buy the same RAM, manufacturers constantly change the parts the RAM is made of, even if it has the same name.
Mixing different kits might still work, but it might not work the same way. The result would be instability, meaning the PC wouldn't boot up/blue screens, and then you might have to lower the clock speed, which would result in a loss of performance.
