Does the cornea regenerate?
When I search for it, the first answer is "No":
However, when I look to see if it can heal, I get:
What now?

Hey 🙂 I wanted to know what you think my eye color is. It seems like they're always changing. Sometimes they look more green, sometimes more blue. I'm not sure. What do you think? (Hope you recognize something :)) I look forward to your answers. LG Flämmchen
Airport security is relatively strict when it comes to liquids.
Last year, I learned from two ophthalmologists that my lens had slight clouding. At another appointment, I asked the same doctor again if the clouding was still slight and when my eye would need to be operated on. Then he looked again and said, "That's not right—who said that? The lens has no clouding." That…
Hey hello everyone (: I have a short question about "vision". Since I can remember I have had the "ability" to blur my eyes and turn them off again I like to do this when I just think and daydream Does anyone know what this is and if everyone can do it?
In summer it is sometimes very cool at night, around 10-15 degrees, and it usually feels so pleasant and fresh and I have often been outside wearing a t-shirt. Meanwhile, 10-15 degrees in other seasons feels much colder and it's not enough to just go out in a t-shirt. Why is that?
I think I can see an embryo there. The egg is about 10-15 days old. My hen laid two more eggs yesterday and one a few days ago. However, one is damaged. (The hen laid without a nesting place!)
I think that depends on the severity of the damage. As a child I had an injury to the Hornahut in the eye, which luckily needed nothing more than some time and fresh air;-)
Whether the cornea recovers completely from an injury depends on the severity.
The cornea consists of several layers. The top layer, the HH epithelium, renews approximately every 7 days. In some injuries/disorders, this layer is even removed with a laser in order to be able to grow again smoothly.
If an injury goes deeper, zb to Stroma, it cannot heal and leave scars.
Cell decay processes also take place on the cornea of the eye.
The epithelial cells contribute to the maintenance of a stable film of tears and to the secretion of the epithelial basal membrane – decisive for corneal healing. Coral epithelial cells are constantly turned around while the outermost cells are released into the tear film. The entire epithelium is turned around in about seven to ten days.
Thank you, I’m a little worried… Last night I decalcified the espresso machine with decalcifier (contains amidosulfonic acid) and used all the time the steam settings from the steam nozzle… Has quite stunken and had in retrospect fear if not a little came from the gas to my eyes
It helps flush with hand-warm water whenever you feel eye irritation.
I’d definitely answer that with yes. Damage to the cornea can heal without consequences and invisibly. Scratches, for example, how to experience them when you get an eye-catching branch. In addition, the cornea can be subjected to greater loads, e.g. through an operation, cloudy and even somewhat foldable and recovering completely.
I don’t think she’s re-growing. So what’s being removed is permanently gone.
So this is a question of the definition of “regenerate”.

That’s why the eye is not damaged. I’m just doing this with safety glasses.
Do you have any pain in your eye or any burning or something? If not, I wouldn’t assume there was something happening. Of course, it’s not really healthy, because you inhaled the soup.
You still don’t have to look in again
Thanks 🙂 yes in the eyes I am always paranoid in the retrospective, once bought me a uvc light disinfectant and had so much fear to have damaged my retina in a short unintentional eye contact that I have directly made an ophthalmic appointment physician with oct scan, slit lamp examination, optomap scanner and at the end it was told me that it is a beautiful youngfound and everything looks healthy
So I don’t think it’s necessary. But next time just do this with open window, with safety goggles and optionally also with mask.
So it didn’t burn before but just worried me
Just thought of something sad so that so much tear fluid accumulates the at least one drop that is coming down 😅
So if it really should be necessary, then you flush the eye, also with tap water for emergency. Or you just dripping appropriate care agent into the eye.
I don’t know what you’re talking about.
In any case, have no pain, have tried artificially to drink, and after that they felt a bit dry and were of course reddish by the tear liquid
Regenerated. Just think of specific eyes OP’s…
“Since the tissue cannot itself regenerate, degeneration processes, injuries, illnesses, infections or plant-related misconstructions can lead to clouding or scar formation of the cornea and impair vision – to blindness.” https://www.ukw.de/eye clinic/centers/horn skin and binding skin/ for example, that it does not.
If that were the case, you wouldn’t be able to carry out surgery, or put syringes in the eye. Then people would have holes in their eyes.
Or here: “Can the cornea regenerate?
No, she can’t” https://www.swissmedical.net/en/ophthalmology/eye/horne diseases

Coral injuries: By means of an intensive treatment with eye drops or an ocular ointment or so-called dressing contact lenses, a corneal injury often cures without a scar.
