Does that sound okay?

I wrote to the email address of a minor moderator, saying the following:

Ladies and Gentlemen

Is there an autograph address for XY? I think he's a great guy, and I'd like an autograph card from him.

But I was simply connected to the moderator himself!

Does this "great guy" sound okay, or even gay? I didn't think he was writing to me personally.

I think that the mail has been kept somewhat too short and, moreover, is somewhat too formal, the “Very Dear Ladies and Gentlemen” somehow does not fit into a fan request, here you can write something more personal like “love/r” and then the corresponding name, for example “Moderator/in”.

“Gibt it” is somehow too strongly written in the passive at the beginning, that might be more beautiful to formulate.
