Does pocket money always count as income for citizen's allowance?
I (26) have recently started living alone, am doing an apprenticeship, and receive citizen's allowance, which also finances my apartment.
My training is school-based, but I work as an intern in an institution 3 out of 5 days and receive €200 pocket money per month.
So this pocket money counts towards my income, which makes sense at first. Unfortunately, the money isn't enough, and now I'm wondering why the pocket money is even added to my income. I thought there was a certain exemption limit. If this pocket money weren't included, I would obviously receive a higher benefit from the government office.
Does anyone happen to know anything about this?
If the pocket money is paid as an expense allowance, it should be exempt from taxation up to the stated amount.
At least 100 €.
More.
The €100 is the basic allowance on "normal" earned income, which does not apply in the case of an expense allowance.
This is internship compensation and is credited just like any other income. This is also the case for me. I am also in school, and my internship compensation is credited.
Anyone who knows about this should first look at the job center's calculation. Your statements are so vague that it makes no sense to make assumptions.
PS: If you don't have enough money, a household budget often helps…
Wow, that's an unfriendly and unnecessary way to respond.
The question is how this pocket money should be valued. Is it simply compensation for some kind of volunteer work, or is it income subject to social security contributions, similar to an FSJ (voluntary social year).
In any case, the entire pocket money of 200 € should not be credited 100% to the citizen's allowance but only partial point allowances this
This is neither an expense allowance nor an FSJ (voluntary social year). This is an internship allowance, and it will be credited just like any other income.
But I don't understand why the OP gets so little for it.
Like the TE, I am also in school-based training and receive 816 euros gross internship remuneration
It's best to ask the job center, then you'll get an exact answer.
Good joke LOL
Why? They should know that.
