Does my pill work?

Hey,

I've been taking the birth control pill (Swingo 20) for four or five days now and took it right away. The thing is, my period usually starts in the morning. But before I took the pill on Wednesday, I had light, dark spotting on Tuesday evening. Now I don't know if that was the first day of my cycle or not. How do I know it's really working? Did I take it on the right day or not? Thanks in advance 🙂

Hello

If you take the first pill on the first day of the period (you have 24 hours) then protect it immediately, take it at another time then you must also prevent the first 7 days. The protection begins only from the 8th pill.

If you are unsafe simply prevent the first 7 uninterrupted day of pill intake

Without exception, any pill protects reliably from the first day of taking when you start on the first day of menstruation. You have 24 hours to do that, because a day is so long.

Expecting the period is recommended, among other things, to exclude an existing pregnancy, to suppress the ovaries from the start and thus to guarantee immediate protection.

You can also start taking on day 2-5 of your cycle, but then you have to apply additional contraceptive means (eg a condom) on the first 7 days.

Even if this is not possible or not desired, you can also start on another day if you are not pregnant. Then, in each pill, after 7 days (except in the Qlaira – there are 9 days) sufficient protection has built up ("Quick Start Method").

If you are not sure of your bleeding pattern, you can keep it and also prevent it for 7 days or for a week for a sex.

Happy for you!

You don't have 24 hours a day?

The pill doesn't matter what the watch says or whether it is bright or dark 😉
