Does my cat have a broken rib?
We have a tomcat, and he wears a collar. It's one for ticks, made of plastic with a clasp like a watch.
Today he came home and some animal abuser strapped it REALLY tightly around his stomach, like, really tight. But he walked normally and everything. I took it off and he lay down to sleep.
Now we've noticed that he's suddenly walking very slowly and jumping with difficulty. We can no longer touch his stomach or the area where his collar was, and he's meowing in pain. He just lies there the whole time, twitching a little every now and then.
Could he have a broken rib? Or what is wrong with him, and what should we do? It's the weekend, so my mom can't take him to the vet.
Please go to the next veterinary clinic or emergency service! It might be hurt by your cat, a broken rib would be the smaller evil! There is a risk of life for the poor guy.
Good luck!
It always has a veterinarian emergency service and animal clinics are always open. You should have this examined as soon as possible if really a rib is broken it can happen that this has injured an inner organ and it has internal bleeding. Or that the blood circulation was disturbed by the narrow collar, that can lead to permanent damage
He must have been stunned first. If a cat doesn’t want it, you can’t keep it that you can do anything to her.
So if the story is true, there must have been much more. So I wouldn’t just wait until Monday. Unless he eats and drinks.
Rib fractures, you can’t do anything for people to wait outside. Unless a rib drilled into the lung, it must be operated immediately.
But the break in and for itself, must heal by itself…is very, very painful.
If someone is so disgusting to do this, you don’t know what else he did to her. Because just, no strange person, even owner doesn’t….if a cat doesn’t want, you can’t hold it. No matter how suspicious and ugly that is otherwise.
Hi.
Is that really not possible with the vet? I mean, there must be some emergency number for pets. Maybe see if everything looks the same as before or if something’s changed. I’d also see if there’s something swollen. Maybe he’s just smearing about the narrow collar. It doesn’t have to be that what’s broken. I’d look after an emergency number if he doesn’t feel better.
Set the hangover good

Thank you. I looked after, there’s nothing swollen.
you can also go to a veterinary clinic on weekends or to an emergency doctor
