Does mixed consumption depend on the order?

I have consumed alcohol and cannabis together a few times and most of the time everything was fine and I was just relaxed and didn't experience any major negative consequences.
But one time I didn't feel so great afterwards and I didn't know exactly why.

Are there differences in the effects if you drink first and then smoke, or vice versa?
And are there ways to minimize or completely avoid unpleasant side effects (other than avoiding them altogether)?

In my opinion, the order does not matter. What is decisive is how much of which active ingredients are in the blood at the same time. The Drugscouts warn:

The alcohol effect is enhanced and the cannabis effect is covered, the combination can cause nausea and (strong) circulatory problems.

First drink and then “smoking” is often not good.
