Does GMX require ID?

Hi everyone, I created an account with GMX, and everything was fine. I received a few emails, but the next day I couldn't access my account anymore. I got a message saying I had to verify my account with my ID.

<No thanks!!!!>

I often use fictitious names and addresses on free services and on the internet in general because I hate spam and advertising. Is that why I was blocked?

But I have several other GMX accounts with fictitious addresses… everything's working fine there. Is this new? Or has the account been reported and therefore investigated?

That's weird… I'm going back to Hotmail… no ads and much better software and loading times!

In such cases, I always recommend my own mail server. You don’t have all the stress.

Alternatively, you can also use a mailbox at Posteo or Mailbox.org and the alias function.
