Does anyone know how heavy an Attentin 10 mg tablet is?

Hello Community,

Does one of the tablets also only weigh 10mg? I can't really imagine that, as I think 10mg is much lighter. I can't weigh the tablet myself because my scales are broken, so I'm asking you.

Please no unnecessary answers and thank you in advance!

A few hundred milligrams. Of these, 10 mg of the active ingredient are dexamfetamine.

Hi.

I can’t say how hard the tablet is. However, since a tablet consists not only of the active ingredient but also of auxiliary substances, the tablet is in any case heavier than 10 mg.

Attentin is a drug for the treatment of ADHD in minors, provided that a therapy with methylphenidat (Ritalin etc.) failed.

Attentin maintains the active substance dexamphetamine. A 10mg tablet contains 10 mg of dexamfetamine sulfate which corresponds to 7.34mg of pure dexamphetamine. But of course, a 10mg tablet is heavier than 10mg, because the usual tablet fillers are added.

In the case of attentin, these are magnesium stearate, isomalt and ferri oxidum flavum (E 172). The tablet fillers have no active pharmacological action, but make the tablets heavier and larger so that they can be better taken.

The 10 mg relate only to the amount of active compound. Of course, there are also carrier and fillers.

You have to weigh yourself.

The 10 mg is not the weight of the tablet, but the active ingredient in it.
