Does anyone have experience with removing a shunt (head)?
Has anyone here in the forum had a shunt removed and can share their experience?
I had a large piece of it implanted after a cerebral hemorrhage, and during a checkup, it was discovered that the shunt was defective. Apparently, I don't really need it. But removing it isn't exactly a trivial undertaking either.
Thanks for answers.
If you don’t need it, you can leave it defective. Then why should he be removed? It’s an unnecessary risk.
How did you find he was broken? You can only find out by not unfolding its effect and you just see it – but that would mean that you still need it…
That’s not my question, so your answer doesn’t fit. But thanks anyway.
As a doctor, of course, I question medical questions. And since you yourself suggest that a distance has not been praised as uncomplicated, you could simply ask yourself if a distance to one is sensible and whether a new installation is necessary.
The shunt gives symptoms when it is broken like high fever…
No, it’s just when he’s infected.
Sorry, I didn’t want to get over.
A CT was advised to check if I could manage without this good part and that’s so (so without). The neurosurgeon then asked his Prof. in the KH again and he said, if not absolutely necessary, this useless part should remain. But now it’s so that I’m more often awkward and sucks and causes headaches and more often nausea. If it had a meaning and was necessary, I would accept it without a complain.
To your question how to find the defect: The valve behind the ear does not work.
