Does an Alfa Romeo Mito EZ 2016 rust quickly?

Hello! Alfa Romeo generally says that all cars rust quickly.
Is that true? Or does it also apply to new cars first registered in September 2016?

I would like to buy a new Mito.

So the more recent Alfas are qualitatively excellent cars, and rust is not a bigger issue than any other manufacturer (my wife drives a GT year 2009 and that is not a trace from rust, although it is mostly out of it).

It's not Alfa Sud. It's a mito. Alfa has also learned from the problems of the 1970s and 1980s, such as VW.

So, don't worry.

The Alfa is currently more likely to go hops than the bodywork. ;

Shumping. ;

Seriously, anyone who knows the type 3 or remembers how fast Passat and Golf are at that time, can call the state of Golf IV and V a little miracle after more than 10 years. ;

The golf 2 didn't know what rust was.

Then you had a different golf 2 when he was in my friends and acquaintances (I was on the go with Polo 86C). 10 years old -> there were even French and Italians ashamed of rust. 😀

Don't misunderstand. In the past, after 8 years, vehicles were so much affected by the "brown plague" that came out with the HU. Motor and gearboxes would have sloped down a number of 1,000 km.

Today it is almost different: bodywork and underbody or suspension keeps loose several 100'000 km, not motor/gear. Some manufacturers probably see it as VW earlier: there was a plaque for 100,000 kilometers (VW Beetle). See link:

https://www.ebay.at/sch/i.html?_sop=7&_nkw=vw+plakette+100000

Some of these days as commuters/distributors in 2 years drive on their vehicles.

Excursion: In Mito the notorious M32 gear has also been installed (6 gear manual switch). I also have the same gear in my Opel. Has a bad reputation as the manufacturing tolerances were too large -> transmission damages in up to model year 2010 were or are not rare. However, they only occur with a fraction of the gears actually installed until then.

The more you will read about the Mito, the more you will find the problems and vulnerabilities. But. It has every vehicle. More, less serious. My Opel is from 2013. Improved M32 drives have been installed. At least this is so readable. Therefore, I continue to relax – currently with over 71,000 km.

the rust supply at FIAT is currently just as good as other manufacturers, formerly there were problems with VW, Opel, etc., also with Mercedes
