Do you taste the alcohol less when you're already quite drunk?

For example, if you drink vodka now.
You've already drunk 200ml. Will the taste make it easier to get the alcohol down? I often drink it neatly because the effect kicks in much faster.
Did I just imagine it or is it true?

Alcohol is more and more disturbing the communication between the neurons with increasing per mille. This can lead to various failure phenomena. Among other things, the taste sensation can also suffer. So what you're describing is quite possible.

Hello, Jacob!

Your brain already shows you that it's totally overwhelmed with alcohol. Only when the body is matured at 21 years, the liver is able to gradually decompose a small amount (highest 13 grams) of alcohol.

Hello,

in my subjective perception, I taste the alcohol less when I have already drunk.
