I have my practical exam coming up soon, and I'm wondering whether (if I pass) I'll get this pink slip, or the exam certificate, right after the exam, or whether I have to pick it up. My best friend, for example, had to pick up his certificate, while others received it immediately after passing the exam.

You can’t answer that on a flat-rate basis. It depends on whether the driving licence authority has handed out the test certificate to the examiner in time or whether it does so at all.
The authority at my place of residence, for example, does not do this in principle, here everyone gets only a non-official certificate and has to pick up his driver’s license or BF17 certificate later on. Some counties send him to the TÜV so that he can be handed over directly after the exam, others send him back by mail.
If you are already 17 at the time of the exam you will get the pink note immediately handed out 🙂
