Can you prepare Tassimo pods without a machine, but with a kettle and filter?

My boyfriend bought Milka Tassimo pods and didn't realize you needed a coffee machine to use them. Can't you just dissolve the grounds in the pods in the filter like you would with regular coffee? It won't have a frothing effect, but it should still work. What do you think?
