Do trips in ACNL contribute to medals (for example, the fishing badge)?

I've been wondering for a while whether, theoretically, you could get a different medal for trips besides the one with the medals. What I mean is, if you go on a fishing trip, for example, and catch all the fish, do you get the medal for fishing once you've collected the certain number of fish needed for the medal? I don't know if I'll understand, but can you please help me?

Do you think you'll get the badges you get from this guy and they're also on the civic pass through excursions? If you mean,

No, I don't know. I just think that's when you do things in your own city. Doesn't even know if island counts, but trips don't.
