Do moths overwinter?

We have a beautiful moth in our apartment. Apparently, it hatched in here…

But there is snow outside (minus degrees)

We can't really let him out because he wouldn't find anything to eat. Is there any way to help the little guy? Or does anyone have experience with a situation like this?

That’s an agate Phlogophora meticulosa, that is, an owlfold:

Here is a little more:

The caterpillars eat on various plants, the adult wrinkles then feed on the nectar of flower-bearing plants.

It’s difficult right now, yes, because it’s really cold out there. I wouldn’t put him too warm, but here – as already done – offer something.
When he cuts the orange slice, it’s all right. Maybe other juicy fruits until you can let him out.

Good luck!
