Distance learning sewing – do you understand the "material" and learn how to sew clothes properly, or is it too complicated for a layperson?

There's a distance learning course in sewing for beginners and sewing enthusiasts for €39 per month, with materials and online resources. There, you learn how to sew clothes. But is such a course really worth it for beginners, or is it not too difficult? I'd like to do a distance learning course, and I'm interested in sewing, but I'm not sure if it suits me or if I'll understand the materials. What do you think?

If you don’t have a chance to visit a sewing course, then I would do the online. There is nothing against:-)

I’ve had some knowledge of class in school. Now I’m looking into the Internet on Youtube and watching videos. That helps me a lot and I’ve tried a lot.

When you sew masks yourself, there were many different videos. I thought that was great and sometimes funny.

Actually, you can find everything in little Viedeos. From the pillowcase with zipper, hose case to the shopping bag made of felt no matter all :-))

Don’t let it stop you, it won’t hurt you. It’s a nice hobby, by the way. You can turn off well and make the preparations (choose stuff etc.) until you finally start sewing also fun!

….apart from the fact that the price mentioned by the FS is over €700!

But you’re right with your YT videos.

Ohh … 700 € I wouldn’t spend that I would then teach myself about various information on the Internet and a basic knowledge of sewing book. You start with simple things and when you work, you keep going:-)

Auweh ….this sounds very “wischiwashi “, the one who wrote this text clearly has no idea of sewing and cutting!

I don’t have a good feeling.

Explore courses at the Volkshochschule, someone looks at your finger, you have an immediate feedback and can ask for free what you want.

It’s never good if you want to learn a craftsman’s activity and sit in a quiet chamber and nobody has an eye on it. I’d definitely guess.

Here are some books, which would be important for the beginning – in these books you can read everything again and again and what you should theoretically know is well summarized and explained.

And this costs a fraction of these price fees .

Well, distance learning can be easy, but can also be difficult.

But I don’t know if a distance study is useful for sewing. This is a craftsmanship, because you think practice is very important, and you just have to sit with someone experienced, otherwise you can also read a book.

I can’t imagine that an online course “nears” is especially helpful for newcomers if you are to teach yourself.

As @NalchHalt09 wrote, a course at the Volkshochschule or a similar institution would be more suitable and helpful for a newbie with certainty.

I would recommend a sewing course at the VHS or other facilities on site.
