Disable F1 to boot?
Hi, my problem is that I have to press F1 every time I boot my server. It's not that bad, but it prevents me from turning it on remotely, since I still have to press F1. I just can't find the function in the BIOS. As for the server, it's an HP Z400 workstation.
However, this prompt only appears if there was a CMOS error, for example, because a specified component is missing—usually no keyboard, or rather, a conventional keyboard is expected (DIN connector), but it is a wireless keyboard. The function for this is usually described as "BIOS stop on error." In the HP BIOS, this should be found under "Power," I believe.
I'm having a problem in the BIOS that it doesn't recognize a keyboard via USB, only one connected to the PS/2 port. The error message that pops up whenever I press F1 is as follows: 917-Front Audio Not Connected. However, it's connected, and I can't find anything in the BIOS that matches it.
Advanced->Devices->Onboard Devices, and then Audio disable. F10 to save.
Yes, the problem is that the option is not there, the Onboard Devices section is not available to me
I think you should replace the CMOS battery, everything points to that…
By the way, it's a normal CR2032…
Please unplug first 🙂
From the looks of it, it might not have enough power left, which isn't surprising given how old the device is, assuming the original one is still in there…
The mainboard has already burned out once and has been replaced, and of course the battery has also been changed
