Difference between "un appel" and "un coup de téléphone"?
In my vocabulary, both terms translate as "a call." Now I was wondering if there's a difference between the two, in terms of content or usage? The same applies to the verbs appeler qn, passer un coup de téléphone à qn , and téléphoner à qn .
No difference

theCallPl.:the calls–i.S.v.:Telephone call
Call – le coup de fil
Je vais téléphoner à Pedro.
Je vais appeler Pedro.
Je vais lui passer un coup de fil.
no difference!
So I am German-French and have never used “un coup de téléphone”
It seems to be an old-fashioned expression.
