Diesel small car with long gear ratio for the highway?
Hey everyone,
I wanted to ask a friend if you know of any small diesel cars with very long gear ratios (maybe even 6th gears; the car doesn't necessarily have to have power)? He lives in Hamburg and commutes to Berlin frequently. He doesn't need a lot of space in his car, so efficiency is a top priority. I've already helped him search online, but it's proving quite difficult without much knowledge of cars.
His goal is to cover as much distance as possible for as little money as possible,
Thanks for any help and suggestions! 🙂
If I had to travel on a regular basis for so long distances, I would like to travel to some extent comfortably, not to get out of the car every time as biked. A small car wouldn’t be my first choice.
The Renault Megane 1,5 dCi with 110 hp, which I currently drive, is almost as translated as the Jaguar with 2,2-liter diesel I had before. For the small motörchen this is quite long, the sixth gang is therefore almost only used on the highway. For this, I also have less than 5 liters of moderate driving.
Hamburg and Berlin? You don’t need an environmental badge? Old diesels aren’t in question.
It’s been a long time for Euro IV Diesel.
vllt come into question Peugeot 107 and Citroen C1
They were also available as diesel, 1.8l 64PS and 5. Gear gear, 5l can then count with the 1C diesel. But had to look and then take some money in the hand for the body, then just drive and save. Dude of me has 3 doors as diesel, the body has to do but the technique still works as before on the first day.
If he wants to consume as little as possible, he should look for a 3 liter polo 😀
