This is difficult, I can only recommend an outsider to come to: what one finds again and again is the Mazda Tributefrom approx. 2000 built – a reliable five-door offroader, well equipped, mazda-typically with good engines; he was created in a cooperation with Ford and also ran as Ford Maverick from the band. The Mazda is technically good, but very rusty – and the engines are not particularly economical. If you find a well-maintained tribute, it is still an option, especially as it is for approx. 3500 euros does not give many alternatives and an old Opel Frontera or something is not better, on the contrary. The tribute is in his way not a bad car, in 2004 there was a revision, here are some information from the Mazda press office.

All others are usually significantly more expensive, even an old Honda CR-V or Mitsubishi Pajero Pinin or Hyundai Tucson (the came approx. 2004 on the market) can hardly be found under 5,000 euros in a suitable and recommended state – the Mazda is a good bit cheaper. Exotics like the Citroen C-Crosser and similar bullshit I would not recommend that it is cheap, but rather a slightly higher compact combination and not a good SUV.

One of the old Mercedes M-Class (the ML from about 1997) especially the ML230 with 150 hp four-cylinder petrol from the then C/E class is often not particularly expensive, especially with manual switching. Technically, the car is super, unfortunately rusty and somewhat primitive, the work in Amiland was not as far as Benz in Stuttgart or Rastatt in terms of quality at the time. However, the characteristics of the winder are good, the old ML is a tough brox with very good terrain qualities and high trailer load as well as plenty of space.

Special off-road vehicles in the price class are more likely to be a spare parts pender.

SUFF and railcars are never cheap. The consumption alone is significantly higher, with less driving performance.

They are heavy and the wheels and tires wear faster. And they are more expensive.

Just when you are supposed to be dealing with BEV (see your threads/answers), you should know that Dacia Spring, Ford Capri and Explorer are quite economical SUVs: https://insideevs.de/features/558403/electroautos-small-power consumption vehicle classes-558403/

For example, you should know that in cheap cars, not so much attention is paid to efficiency, so that an SUV with more efficient technology can consume less.

They are heavy and the wheels and tires wear faster.

This also applies to small BEV limousines.

I thought this was about a car, not about BEV. They are not favourable in the acquisition. And neither in consumption. Especially not the jump.

They’re supposed to be quite sturdy. But rust problems are on the agenda.

You’ll get a maximum of 4 wheels from the off-road vehicle.
