I shaved my pubic area yesterday, and now it's a bit itchy. Is there anything I can do about it or should I change my shaving routine?

Why do so few women wear a (proper) pubic hairstyle these days?
A stripe, a heart, a triangle on the mons pubis or something like that. Almost all of them are either completely clean-shaven or trimmed all over. It seems that more young women have a full head of hair (i.e., untrimmed) than have a pubic haircut.
