Did I do the task correctly?

Hey people,

I have a question, namely whether the task I solved is correct, because unfortunately I didn't understand it very well, but I tried it anyway:

The task:

A fragment of a peptide reads: … Ser-Val-Lys-Met-Ala …

Give a possible sequence of the mRNA and the coding DNA.

My answer:

The codogenic DNA sequence for the given amino acid would be 5'-TCA-GTT-AAA-ATG-GCT-3'. The corresponding mRNA sequence would be 3'-AUG-CAA-UUU-UAC-CGA-5'.

Is this correct? If not, can someone please correct it?

Thank you

The RNA polymerase can synthesize only in the 5′-3′ direction. The sequence of the mRNA must therefore be 5′-AUG…-3′ oriented. Based on this, you need to consider the complementary sequence of the codog strand. Remember that the codogenic strand is complementary to the mRNA and is contrary;)
