DHL refuses acceptance of “Return to Original Sender”?

Example scenario:

Package from me to customer shipping

The package is scanned 3 times in the start parcel center. The 3rd time it appears that it is being returned to the original sender for no reason.

What would happen if I refused to accept this package?

It's just a little gimmick I'd like to try, maybe someone has already done it.

What would happen if I refused to accept this package?

You are obliged to accept.
If you also refuse, the package at the post office will be approx. 6 months, then the content is auctioned or destroyed. The resulting expenses require the mail from you. Even in court.

1
