I have recently been employed by DB and have been indirectly recommended another position which I also find quite interesting.
However, since I'm still in my probationary period, I'm naturally wondering whether a transfer would even be possible, and if so, what would the probationary period look like? Will I have another six months after a transfer?

Depends on your contract. I know that new contracts in certain professions are so designed that you have to stay in this job for at least 2 years. This means that the DB wants to prevent the high fluctuation. If there is such a clause you have to wait, otherwise not.
