Desogestrel – taking errors and panic?

Hello everyone,

I'll come straight to the point:

Two and a half weeks ago, I had diarrhea for three days, but didn't take an additional pill. I also had spotting, which I attribute to the diarrhea. I also took charcoal tablets for the diarrhea and took my pill about three hours later (this was on a Saturday, and there had been a week without diarrhea in between). The next day, everything was fine, and I took my pill as usual. That night (Sunday into Monday), I had sex with my boyfriend.

At my appointment with my gynecologist to check out the spotting (Thursday), the topic of the morning-after pill came up, which I then took that evening (Ella One). However, out of reflex, I also took my pill an hour later when my alarm went off.

I've googled so much that I'm absolutely panicking that I might be pregnant. My gynecologist hasn't been able to find anything yet because it's still too early.

What do I do now? Should I continue taking the pill or take a break? Will I get my period right away? Will any egg that develops be expelled?

And if I take a break, when should I take the first pill again (I have been taking desogestrel continuously without a break for about three months).

I hope you can ease my panic a little and have some answers for me…

I think it’s not a problem. You took the pill a long time, and your diarrhea is just worth as if you had taken a pill break.

More problematic is the pill after which, after taking it, one should additionally prevent for a time.

19 days after the supposedly unprotected sex, you can make a pregnancy test.
