Desktop damage?

Good morning,

My mother ordered a laptop 14 days ago. It arrived two days later.

Today she opens her device and boots it up. So far, so good. Once it boots up, we see the surprise: A line as wide as a hair (see attachment).

I

Could this damage a display? We have absolutely no idea 😅😅😅

Thanks for your answers in advance!

It doesn’t look normal. Would send it back to the manufacturer.

hard to say.
Such a display consists of lines from right to left and from top to bottom. A light-emitting diode can be imagined at the respective intersection. (This is not so easy, because it also has to be three red, green, blue.)

It is conceivable that one column (from top to bottom in the display) is defective or the graphics card has an error.
You as a user can’t care.
Returns the device as long as there is warranty/guarantee.

Such a mistake is not caused by false treatment.

Yes, it looks like a display damage.

I’d complain.
